Annual Veterans Day Program by SCC Middle School

The SCC Middle School will present their annual Veterans Day Program on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 1:30 p.m., in the Middle School Gymnasium in Rockwell City. The public is invited and Veterans are asked to register between 1:10 and 1:25 so they can be seated prior to the program. All Veterans are welcome and those that have been invited through the “Bring A Veteran to School” program will be asked to sit with the student that invited them. After the program there will be a group photo taken followed by a short reception in the Commons.

This year’s guest speaker for the community Veterans Day celebration sponsored by the South Central Calhoun Middle School is Mr. Donovan Billingsley. He is currently the SCC Middle School’s Art and Computer Technology Teacher working with grades 4 through 8.

Mr. Billingsley is a graduate of Nevada High School in Nevada, Iowa, and after pondering his future enlisted in the United States Navy in June of 1992. He graduated from U.S. Navy recruit training on August 8, 1992 at Great Lakes, RTC in Chicago, Illi.
