Bowie shows off Lake City products for Lt. Gov

As Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds walked through Bowie International’s Lake City plant, she asked question after question about the company’s custom-made fiberglass products.
She even took the chance to climb into a completed Hurricane Roadster, on display within the shop. When the tour wrapped up, Reynolds said her goal in the visit was twofold – first, she wanted to thank Iowa businesses who have stayed in the state. Secondly, she wanted to know if there were any challenges for business owners, particularly when those owners are dealing with state officials.
Not really, Bowie’s Executive Vice President Steve Sinnard said. Instead, the biggest challenge is just finding qualified employees for the growing business, which now has 35 to 40 workers and which added several products, including the roadster, to its repertoire in the past few years.
