Budget talks for 2016 continue with economic development plans

The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors continued the ongoing 2016 budgeting process with updates from Pam Anderson, both in her capacity as the director of the Calhoun County Economic Development Corp. and as the facilitator for the county’s Historical Preservation Commission.

The latter job, Anderson said Jan. 13, is one she can no longer do, because of time commitments for work with the Mid-Iowa Growth Partnership and other duties relating to her economic development work.

With a decrease in financial contributions from cities in Calhoun County, Anderson asked the board for a 4.8 percent increase in support, going from roughly $80,000 this year to $84,000 next year. Right now, Manson, Rinard and Farnhamville do not contribute to the economic development corporation.
