Calhoun supervisors select engineer for pipeline oversight

ISG will provide inspectors for a proposed oil pipeline through Calhoun County, if the Iowa Utilities Board approves the project.
The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 24 selected ISG, formerly called I+S Group, out of Storm Lake to oversee pipeline construction, as well as all drainage, utility and road crossings. Calhoun County is the third to officially pick ISG, which is marketing its services in all 18 counties through which Dakota Access Energy’s pipeline would travel.
“Let’s get a consistent inspection team going,”civil engineer Evan Del Val said. “As a county, do you really want to be isolated in your experience of the project?”
