In a 4-0 decision, the City Council of Lake City voted to terminate the City Administrator in a special meeting Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Greg Nath was near the end of 90-day probationary period when the City Council met in special session to discuss his job performance.  “He was not progressing to the point we felt he should have been,” according to Lake City Mayor Gary Fahan.

The City Council met in closed session for approximately an hour and a half to discuss Nath’s job performance.  During that time Nath waited in the City Office while the council went over an evaluation tool filled out by each council member.  Nath was then called back into the meeting while still in closed session.  When the Council returned to open session, Councilperson Doug Filmer made a motion to terminate Nath effective immediately, the motion was seconded by Councilperson Tami Green.  “It’s nothing personal.  This is a business,” stated Filmer.
