West Sioux High School’s football team may have viewed the South Central Calhoun Titans as rivals on the field Nov. 2, but they didn’t let that stop them from remembering the team and its community as people grieving the death of a young man.
West Sioux cheerleaders presented Zane Neubaum and his parents $500 they raised from Falcons fans in memory of Jacy McAlexander, the SCC High School junior who died in May from Ewing’s sarcoma. Neubaum, who had been friends with McAlexander for years, started a fundraiser at the beginning of this football season to donate money for every point he kicked this season.
