Kids get close-up view of emergency vehicles

Calhoun County Emergency Medical Technicians Charlie Peyton and Jarid Kuchenreuter took a group of Rockwell City kids through an ambulance Friday morning as part of the Rockwell City Public Library’s summer reading program.
Peyton and Kuchenreuter demonstrated several pieces of equipment, including the cot on which patients ride, a stair chair, used for bringing patients down flights of steps and a neck brace. With each item, Peyton explained to the kids, mostly elementary school age children, what they were seeing, how it worked and one other point.
