Lake City target of Iowa Workforce Development study

Lake City area residents may soon be receiving phone calls from an unfamiliar number that will help gather valuable information about the workforce in the area.
Calhoun County Economic Development Corp. and Iowa Workforce Development and Iowa Economic are partnering together to conduct a Laborshed employment study for the Lake City area.
According to a release issued by the Calhoun County Economic Development Corp., the study will “geographically define which communities contribute to Lake City’s workforce, regardless of political boundaries.” “The focus of the study will be Lake City, as it is the largest employment center in Calhoun County, and that is how we determine where the study will be based in our new statewide program,” said Katie Lippold, Labor Market Research Economist with Iowa Workforce Development.
