Moon breaks school record at Sioux Rapids

South Central Calhoun senior Spencer Moon broke his own school record in winning the varsity boys race at the 2018 Chris Smith Invitational in Sioux Rapids Thursday, Sept. 13 at the Sioux Rapids Golf and Country Club.
Moon finished first place overall in 15 minutes, 19.04 seconds in winning the varsity boys race and broke the SCC record of 15:41. As a team SCC was eighth in the varsity boys competition with 181 points.
In the varsity girls meet, SCC took home second place as a team with 53 points led by freshman Alexia Nelson, who was 12th overall in 21:25.19.
The Titans also ran last week at the 2018 Kuemper Catholic Invitational meet held at Swan Lake State Park south of Carroll and the boys varsity was third overall as team in the Class B Invitational with 79 points while the SCC girls varsity team placed second in Class B with 41 points.
