North Linn FFA brings free flowers to Lake City

North Linn High School Senior Sam Anderson spent Sunday morning wrapping up her favorite FFA project.
Anderson was one of about a dozen North Linn students stationed just north of the Lake City town square, distributing flats of flowers to anyone interested.
“I love seeing how excited everyone is,” Anderson said. “They’re so gracious.”
Horticulture class students grow the flowers, starting in the spring, then select an Iowa town struck by a natural disaster to receive the plants, which are perennials and will grow in the spring after a fall planting.
