Supervisors and Calhoun County Attorney Tina Meth Farrington did raise their eyebrows, though, when Auditor Judy Howrey said the group would need to provide proof of liability insurance to use the gazebo. Howrey said the policy has been in place for years, and even groups renting the pavilion for weddings have been required to get a one-day insurance policy.
“I’m a little concerned about the fact that (the county is) making people do that,” Farrington said. “You don’t have to take out a liability policy to rent the Expo building or to rent a room at the library.”
