Planned oil pipeline raises concerns

Energy Transfer Crude Oil has a target date of the fourth quarter of 2016 to complete a 30-inch, 1,100-mile pipeline to transport crude oil from the Bakken/Three Forks production area of North Dakota to a hub near Pakota, Ill. Another project is planned to connect the Illinois terminal to one in Texas.

The date when the pipeline is installed in Calhoun County, through the northeast corner, is unknown, but the Calhoun County Supervisors are moving on getting an ordinance in place to protect drainage district infrastructure as soon as possible.
