RC United Methodist Church dedicates basketball hoop in Martin’s memory

When a woman from Ames contacted Rockwell City United Methodist Church with the desire to donate $500 in memory of Urbandale Police Officer Justin Martin, youth group members there got to thinking about how they could use the gift.
Martin, a Rockwell City native, attended the church before graduating from high school. He was killed in the line of duty last November.
“We were just in confirmation (talking about the donation,” youth group member Brennan Holder said. “We just thought it would be fun to have a basketball hoop.”
