SCC Academic Decathlon team finishes 3rd in nation

South Central Calhoun High School’s state championship Academic Decathlon team added another accomplishment to its already record-setting year when it placed third in the national competition earlier this month.
Team members also collected 10 individual medals, with Jacob Stephenson winning gold in science and economics, silver in art and bronze in music and social science at the varsity level. Kjersti Olson won silver in science and bronze in music at the honors level. Daianeira Grage won silver in social science and music at the scholastic level, while Jordan Ludwig won bronze in music at the same level. SCC competed in Division 3, for schools with 800 or fewer students, against 13 other schools.
