SCC board faces filling five vacancies this year

Two South Central Calhoun School Board members tendered their resignations at the April 17 board meeting.
Tom Steinborn of Lake City and Ryan Hildreth of Rockwell City both submitted resignation letters, Steinborn because of work conflicts, and Hildreth because he is moving out of the district.
“Thank you for all the flexibility, to let me do something to give back to the community,” Hildreth said.
Steiborn did not attend the meeting.
The board is not planning to pursue a reduction in the number of board members, as was discussed at previous meetings.
