It was a Twin Lakes Conference rival showdown in the opening round of Class 2A, District 4 baseball play Monday, July 14, at the Rogers Sports Complex north of Fort Dodge as the South Central Calhoun varsity baseball team took on Manson Northwest Webster to begin the 2014 post-season.

South Central Calhoun and MNW battled back and forth throughout the contest, but it was the late scoring rally by the Cougars in the top of the seventh inning that doomed the Titans, as MNW came out the victors to advance with a 14-10 victory. The Titans bowed out of the tournament with an overall record of 13-13 while MNW would advance to play the next night, July15, against host school St. Edmond of Fort Dodge, a game they would lose 10-0 and ended the season at 10-16.
