In a Class 2A, District 15 varsity boys basketball showdown between IKM-Manning and South Central Calhoun Thursday, Feb. 16, at Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, it came to the final seconds of play for both teams to see who would advance to the district finals.
A half-court shot to win the game by SCC’s Kody Case as time expired was just off target and off the back board as the IKM-Manning Wolves escaped the Titans in a 76-74 thriller to advance to the District final against Kuemper Catholic Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Carroll High. For the Titans, SCC closed out the season at 11-12 overall while IKM-Manning moved to 16-6.
Jonas Otto led the Titans with 24 points and nine rebounds in the contest against IKM-Manning while fellow senior A.J. Neubaum finished with 19 points and sophomore Jared Birks scored 12.
