SCC boys golf team opens season with a win

South Central Calhoun’s varsity boys golf team has opened the 2014 season at 2-0 on the season.

The Titans most recently traveled to the Manson Golf and Country Club in Manson Thursday, April 10, and edged the Cougars by five strokes — 173 to 178.

For SCC, both Cyle King and Kory McCarter were the lowest scorers as both shot a round of 42 for nine holes.

Teammates Colin Carlson (44) and Colin Brown (45) rounded out the team scoring, while Conner Ludwig (50) and Trenton Dorman (51) also saw varsity action.

Cole Smothers of MNW was third individually with a 44.

On Monday, April 7, the Titans hosted Sioux Central at Lake City Country Club and SCC came away with an easy 179 to 236 win over the Rebels.
