SCC girls knock off MNW in regional play

South Central Calhoun avenged two regular season losses to Manson Northwest Webster in girls basketball play by eliminating them from post-season play in a Class 2A, Region 3 regional quarterfinal round contest Tuesday, Feb. 14 in Manson.
The Titans defeated the Cougars by a 51-45 final to advance in the girls 2A playoffs and would later face Logan-Magnolia in a regional semifinal contest in Logan Friday, Feb. 17.
Allison Birks led SCC with 15 points, 12 rebounds, seven steals and four assists to go with two blocked shots in the regional quarterfinal win over MNW. Teammate Maddie Jones added 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win and both Emily Henkenius and Heidi Hammen scored eight points for the Titans.
