SCC High School girls basketball team heads to state tourney

The South Central Calhoun High School girls basketball team headed south Monday afternoon to play in the quarterfinals of the state 2A basketball tournament. SCC schools dismissed an hour early, to allow families time to drive to Des Moines and watch the game. Team members were honored with pep rallies at all three schools. Fire departments in Lake City and Rockwell City escorted the team's bus through the towns, while the girls waved at cheering and clapping onlookers.
