SCC volleyball team improves to 26-5 overall

South Central Calhoun’s varsity volleyball team placed second at the 2017 Carroll Volleyball Tournament Saturday, Sept. 16, in Carroll as the Titans went 3-2 on the day to improve to 26-5 overall.
The Titans went 2-1 in pool play as they defeated Ar-We-Va 21-15, 21-4, fell to Humboldt 21-19, 9-21, 10-15, and topped Storm Lake 21-15, 21-9. In the tournament semifinals, SCC bead IKM-Manning 21-19, 13-21, 15-9 before falling to Humboldt 19-21, 15-21 in the finals.
Leading the way for the Titans at the net at Carroll was Emma McKinney with 36 kills while Heidi Hammen had 29. Haley Stauter finished third on the team in kills with 13 at Carroll.
Teylor Anderson led SCC in assists with 56 for the tournament while she also contributed 18 digs. Maddie Jones led the Titans in digs at Carroll with 72 as well as in ace serves with 12.
