SCC wins TLC volleyball championship

South Central Calhoun’s varsity volleyball team was crowned 2014 Twin Lakes Conference regular season champions. The Titans ran the table in the TLC this season as they wrapped up the league title with a three-game sweep of the defending champions, East Sac County, Thursday, Oct. 9, in Lake City by the finals of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-22. With the win, the Titans finished 10-0 in the Twin Lakes Conference in 2014 and improved to 32-0 on the regular season.

Senior Haley Birks led the Titans against East Sac County in blocks with five to go with here eight kills and 18-for-18 serving with an ace serve and a team-high 16 assists.

Senior Maggie Anderson was 13-for-14 serving with two aces, added 11 digs, eight kills and three blocks along with 13 assists against ESC.
