Several groups ask for no increase in 2016 budgets

The Calhoun County Historical Society is completing a big project at its museum in Rockwell City, but the group’s officers aren’t asking for more money next fiscal year.

Historical society officers represented one of several community groups and smaller county entities seeking status quo budgets at a series of meetings with the Board of Supervisors Thursday morning.

In the fall, the historical society began installing a dehumidifier.

“The building is damp,” Dale Gentry told the supervisors. “Getting in the lower area where the band room used to be there’s a lot of moisture.”
