South Central Calhoun High School senior class president Kelsi Carlson asked her classmates to think back to the first day they came to class as Titans Sunday afternoon.
“We were there for the start of something new,” she said, adding the students quickly shed their identities as Southern Cal Mustangs and Rockwell City/Lytton Wildcats to become the SCC Titans. “I am so proud to be part of this family.”
Carlson walked her classmates through a few memories, inside jokes she warned parents and relatives attending the Class of 2017’s graduation ceremony Sunday might not understand.
“Living in the small towns and small community we do has been a blessing,” Carlson said. “Through our ups and downs, we have always supported each other.”
And in the same way that the consolidate school district brought something new, “today is the start of something new,” Carlson told her classmates.
