Storm chasers offer insights on following bad weather

Whenever Zach Sharpe and other members of the Iowa Storm Chasing Network set up at community events, such as Western Days in Lake City, someone inevitably comes by to make the same comment.
“Some people call us stupid,” Sharpe said, adding the comment is never said with mean intentions. “It’s a dangerous hobby. My mom says the same thing.”
Sharpe sees what he does as a public service. The storm chasers routinely update social media sites with weather info and tornado sightings, and providing livestreaming storm video on YouTube and local television stations.
