Titans place second at Central Springs Tournament

South Central Calhoun’s varsity wrestling team competed at the Central Springs Round Robin Tournament in Manly Saturday, Dec. 13, and placed second overall in the event with 256 points. SCC did go 5-0 in dual action as they defeated Dike-New Hartford 39-33, topped Central Sprins 45-27, beat SH/BCLUW 51-21, upended South Hamilton 58-20 and trounced Newman Catholic 66-18.

The Titans had six wrestlers finish undefeated on the day to take home first place in their weight divisions. Landon Makinson (120), Jordan Payne (126), Colin Corey (145), Cody Schumacher (160), Ty Riley (195) and Rylan Richardson (220) all finished in first place. In addition, SCC had three wrestlers — Brody Goodman (132), Logan Peed (152) and Jeff King (170) place second at the meet.
