South Central Calhoun’s varsity softball team opened up the 2018 softball post-season hosting a first round contest in Class 2A, Region 3 play Monday, July 2, in Lytton.
The Titans were unable to get much going offensively against their opponent Woodward-Granger, and fell by a 11-1 final in five innings to end the season at 5-14 overall.
SCC’s lone run and only scoring opportunity of the game came in the bottom of the fourth inning as Maddie Jones reached base on an error on a ball hit in the infield, advanced to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Kortney Riley, and then scored on an RBI hit by Madison Schultz to make it an 11-1 Woodward-Granger lead.
