Everything fell into place for the South Central Calhoun varsity football team on senior night. The Titans picked up an important home win in the team’s final regular season game as SCC upset Class 1A No. 9 Ogden 53-32 in Lake City to improve to 6-3 overall and to close out district play at 4-2 on Friday, Oct. 24.

With the win and coupled with a Manson NW Webster triumph over Madrid Friday, the Titans vaulted to the No. 2 position in the final Class 1A, District 7 standings and allowing them to host a 2014 Class 1A opening round playoff game against Pocahontas Area Wednesday night (Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. in Lake City).

“This was a tremendous effort by all involved tonight,” said SCC head coach Bryan Case of the Titans win over Ogden.  “It was our senior/parents night, and we wanted to end the regular season on a high note. The kids gave everything they had tonight, and were rewarded not only with the victory over a very good Ogden team, but we also earned a second seed in the opening round of the state playoffs. I couldn’t be more proud of our team, staff and communities. It feels good to be a Titan.”
