Mahannah praises Air Force for its influence on her life

When Shannon Mahannah began to struggle with college, her stepfather, a military veteran, made a decision for her.
Her stepfather told her she would be enlisting in the military and he drove her to a recruiter’s office, where she decided to join the U.S. Air Force, Mahannah told third-grade students at South Central Calhoun Elementary School.
“That was the best thing anybody has ever done to me,” she said. “The military completely changed my life. It made me settle down, respect my life.”
