SCC bond vote possible in 2017

South Central Calhoun School District board members want to know – is it better to put a voter-approved levy on the ballot just a month after a presidential election or wait until the following fall, when the community votes on school board members?
It was a question the board didn’t fully resolve at their May 16 meeting, though they appeared to be leaning to the latter option.
A voter-approved Physical Plant and Equipment Levy could generate up to about $500,000 annually for the district, Superintendent Jeff Kruse said.
“I think the need is there,” board member Ryan Hildreth said. “I’d like to start getting our district on par with what everybody else is doing.”
