Cyle King’s four-yard dive into the end zone with 49 seconds remaining helped the South Central Calhoun Titans advance in the 2014 Class 1A state football playoffs with a thrilling 26-23 triumph over Class 1A, No. 5 St. Ansgar (10-1) in St. Ansgar Nov. 3.

The Titans (8-3) were scheduled to face St. Edmond of Fort Dodge at Dodger Stadium in Fort Dodge Friday, Nov. 7, in a Class 1A state football quarterfinal for the right to advance to the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls for the 1A semifinals. (Due to an early deadline, game results for the Titans contest at Fort Dodge St. Edmond will appear in next week’s paper)

Statistically, we had 435 yards on 66 plays to St. Ansgar’s 401 yards on 64 plays.
