Supervisors accept Comp Board recommendations

Salary increase recommendations from the county’s Compensation Board ruffled a few feathers, but the Board of Supervisors ultimately approved the proposed pay raises.

For the better part of a decade, Board Chairman Gary Nicholson said at a Jan. 13 meeting, Calhoun County had paid the auditor, treasurer and recorder the same salary. The Compensation Board, which met Jan. 8, recommended a $2,000 raise for the auditor, while awarding the other two elected officials raises of $1,500.

Other recommendations were $2,500 for Attorney Tina Meth-Farrington and Sheriff Bill Davis and $1,000 for the supervisors.
