The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors selected Iowa Tuckpointing out of Carlisle for a $20,000 project at one of the county’s annex buildings.
Maintenance Supervisor Dewey Snyder brought several bids to the supervisors at their June 13 meeting. He said he also spoke with a local masonry contractor, who said he gave estimates but not project bids. Snyder said he checked references for Iowa Tuckpointing, because the company is fairly new.
“Wall Lake School had work done,” Snyder said. “They had the company do one wall as a test.”
Iowa Tuckpointing completed the project within the estimated time frame, exactly as bid. Snyder said officials at the school have hired the company for another project this summer.
